Happy New
Year! This New Year’s Eve I went out with the biggest
spender in town—my wife. We went to a great night club, but
it got a bit wild. It seems the tables were reserved, but
the customers were not.
How was your holiday? For an extra special gift this year,
my wife wanted to see the world. So I bought her a globe.
She opened it and was really surprised. I hope we are
speaking to each other again soon.
Did you have relatives over
for the holidays? We had so many relatives dropping in on us
I had to hire a hockey goalie to guard the icebox. |
And speaking of guarding the icebox, have you made your New
Year’s resolutions list yet? Is dropping a few extra pounds
on that list? If so, then read on because I will be
revealing 2 JayTips that can help you get in the best shape
of your life, a valuable coupon that can save you some big
money, 6 tips for lowering your blood pressure, and I’ll be
closing this eNewsletter with a list of “what’s new” from
Jay Robb!
God bless you and all the best for 2008 and beyond!

2 JayTips
that Can Help You
Get in the Best Shape of Your Life!
JayTip #1
CLEANSE YOUR SYSTEM
 |
| A
friend of mine went to his doctor and after
examining him the doctor told him, “I’ve got bad
news for you. You could go any time.” My friend
said, “Great. I haven’t gone in five days!”
Are you all backed
up with no way to go? Did you get carried away over
the holidays and gain a few unwanted pounds? Keep in
mind, nothing ever flies into your mouth
accidentally.
|
|
| |
|
If you are
feeling bloated, overweight, and toxic, then it may be
time for you to perform a simple cleanse. A great way to
cleanse the system is with fresh fruit. Try eating a
fresh fruit breakfast several times each week and eat as
much as you desire for that meal. Do not eat anything
else at this meal. Just fresh fruit and lots of it!
Don’t hold back. You may also find my
FRUIT FLUSH 3-Day Detox™ and/or my
14-Day FRUIT DIET™ Detox to be of assistance to
you as a quick and easy way to cleanse your system. For
more on cleansing and my books, please visit
http://www.jayrobb.com.
Water fasting is also
a great way to cleanse your body. I don’t usually
suggest long water fasts, but I do like short water
fasts. Once or twice a week, skip breakfast and consume
two full quarts of pure water through the morning. You
can accomplish this by consuming an 8-ounce glass of
water every half hour for four straight hours. Then,
follow your water fast with a healthy lunch and dinner.
A quick citrus cleanse
can also do wonders for a bloated, tired, and overweight
body. To perform one of my famous citrus cleanses,
squeeze eight fresh Valencia or Navel oranges. Place
juice in blender, and blend with 2 tablespoons of
psyllium seed husk powder until well blended. Consume
this drink for breakfast, and take as long as you need
to drink it. After drinking the orange juice and fiber
blend, consume only lemon or lime juice in water the
rest of the morning—drinking as much as you desire, as
often as you desire. You may perform my citrus cleanse
2-3 times a week and see great results with regard to
weight loss and bloating. Follow the citrus cleanse with
a healthy lunch and dinner.

Avoid Sweets
Avoid sweets of all types except for fresh fruit. Refined
sugar (in all its forms—such as white sugar, corn syrup,
fructose, sucrose, glucose, etc.) is notorious for lowering
the immune system. To stop this immune-lowering response
simply avoid sweets of all types. To satisfy your sweet
tooth, indulge in fresh fruit. Fruit may be added to your
daily protein drinks or eaten alone for breakfast.

Sleep 8 Hours Every Night
Sleeping is very natural to humans, yet in America our push
and drive mentality can lead to sleep deprivation and
lowered immune function. We are designed to move about, be
physical, and nourish our bodies by day. We are also
designed to sleep at night to recharge our mental and
physical batteries.
But instead of getting to bed early so we can rise without
an alarm clock, many of us stay up too late each night and
are then forced to arise to the annoying sound of the alarm
clock long before we are fully rested. To insure you are
getting enough sleep each night, simply note the time you
must get up the next morning and count back 8.5 hours; that
is your bedtime. For example, if you must get up at 6:30am
the next morning, then hit the pillow at 10:00pm. Why allow
the extra half hour? Most of us do not fall asleep right
away once we go to bed, so always allow yourself 30 minutes
to wind down by reading a good book, meditating, and/or
praying.

Sit in the Sun Daily
Okay. I know what you are thinking if you live in a cold climate. I
live in the San Diego area so it is easy for me to tell you to sit
in the sun because southern California is the land of endless
summers. But, in reality, even us southern Californians must pay
attention and put forth effort to meet our daily sunlight needs.
I
work indoors for at least 9 hours a day as CEO of Jay Robb
Enterprises Inc. Thus it is easy for me to miss out on sitting in
the sun due to my heavy workload.
|
So even if it is a beautiful sunny day, I may miss the sun
completely. And you may be in the same boat, or even worse.
You may live in a part of the country where it is extremely
cold during the winter. But your solution may be the same as
my solution: Just do your best! Try sitting in the sun at
lunch and let the sunlight at least strike your face. If you
live in “cold country,” find a sunny place out of the wind
and sit there. You will be amazed at how good the sun feels
as it strikes your skin. Research shows that the sun can
boost your immune system, recharge your hormone system, and
help lift you from depression. Don’t ever underestimate the
healing power of the sun. And don’t ever underestimate the
damaging power of the sun, especially in the summer. Enjoy
the sun, using common sense, and the sun will always be your
immune-boosting friend. For more on the healing power of the
sun, see my new book,
25 FITNESS SECRETS.

Consume Vitamin C Daily
In the human diet,
fresh fruit is one of the richest sources of Vitamin C. But many of
us do not consume enough fresh fruit daily to meet our basic needs
for Vitamin C; thus our immune systems can suffer severely.
To avoid a Vitamin C deficiency and the problems that can result, I
suggest the following:
Have fresh fruit only, and lots of it, 3-4 mornings each week,
especially if you are under stress or feel rundown. Any fresh fruit
will do, but try to eat with the seasons. All citrus fruits are very
high in Vitamin C, but so are most other fruits, including tomatoes.

 |
Get Your Colon Rollin’
Your colon is a beautiful organ if it is functioning properly. But
your colon can become an ugly organ if your intestinal flora balance
is upset due to stress, improper eating, the use of antibiotics, a
low intake of dietary fiber, and/or a low intake of lactose and
other sugars that specifically feed the friendly bacteria in your
colon.
For more information on colon health, please see my book,
GET YOUR COLON
ROLLIN’.
|
|
To keep your colon happy and “on the move,” I suggest the following:
-
Eat a high-fiber diet rich in fresh fruits, veggies, and brown
rice.
-
Drink my famous Colon Rejuvenating Drink 1-3 times daily, as
needed. To make my drink, in 12 ounces of pure water, mix 2
tablespoons of psyllium seed husks with 1 scoop of Jay Robb Sweet
Dairy Whey, stir and drink within 30 seconds. This drink will help
add fiber to your diet to help sweep the colon while feeding the
friendly bacteria with the lactose-rich sweet dairy whey.
-
Avoid sugar, sweets, fried foods,
junk foods, and artificial flavors and sweeteners—all of which
can feed the unfriendly bacteria in your colon while destroying
the friendly bacteria.
-
Limit your need for antibiotics
by staying active and eating a healthy diet.

Q:
I have high blood pressure for which I take medication. My
age is 63 and with the meds my pressure is normally OK. My
question is: Have you had success lowering blood pressure on
your diets? If you have, which system shows the most
success? I am now starting your FRUIT FLUSH™ as a beginning,
but any help you could pass to me would be greatly
appreciated.
Larry
San Juan Capistrano, CA
A: While we cannot claim
cures for diseases or medical afflictions, lowering one’s
blood pressure can be as much a state of mind as it is a
state of health. As a clinical nutritionist I have six
suggestions that can help you maintain normal blood
pressure:
|
-

|
- Eat as healthy as you can. All of my diet
books recommend healthy eating. My
FRUIT
FLUSH™3-DAY DETOX book is a great place to start. After
that, you may wish to graduate to my
14-Day Fruit Diet™
Detox Program for 2 weeks and then graduate to my
Fat Burning Diet as your
lifetime program.
- Get physically fit. By this I mean make sure you are doing cardio
vascular training in your target heart zone for at least 20 minutes
a day, 4 days a week. This should also be combined with a
comprehensive weight-training program for muscular balance.
- Manage your thoughts to gain peace of mind. For this I suggest my
book, BE
STILL, BE SLIM™. Our thoughts alone can elevate our
blood pressure to an abnormal level. This book will teach you how to
still the mind for peace of mind.
|
- Sunbathe daily, if possible, while avoiding sunburn.
Sunlight can naturally lower blood pressure. When sitting in
the sun, relax and let the sun massage and relax your body.
- Breathe. Many times tension can elevate our blood
pressure. Relax and breathe deep frequently throughout the
day and also note the time during the day, when you are
tense and breathing shallow.
- Pray daily. Prayer can also bring about peace of mind.
Ask God for direction to help your blood pressure return to
normal.
These suggestions can help you maintain a healthy blood
pressure. Please continue working with your doctor or health
care provider if you choose to act upon my suggestions. |
